The International Cancer Institute Foundation (ICIF) is a capacity building, patient support and cancer advocacy organization based in Eldoret, Kenya. We work to assist patients as well as other individuals and organizations in the cancer care and non-communicable diseases (NCDs) space by building their knowledge and skills to meet the challenges of eradicating cancer, NCDs and poverty. ICIF’s mission and vision is geared towards establishing a solid reputation for innovation in development practices as well as effective management and implementation of life-changing activities.

The International Cancer Institute Foundation (ICIF) is a capacity building, patient support and cancer advocacy organization based in Eldoret, Kenya. We work to assist patients as well as other individuals and organizations in the cancer care and non-communicable diseases (NCDs) space by building their knowledge and skills to meet the challenges of eradicating cancer, NCDs and poverty.

ICIF was founded on the fact that globally, individuals, communities and entire societies are coping with forces which they seem to have little control over, recognizes that a huge need exists for strong organizations and institutions capable of assisting people and communities to overcome some of the negative consequences of diseases (especially cancer and NCDs) and poverty in Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA). Underlying these trends is a continued need to empower individuals and communities through education and training to upskill and expand their capabilities as well as development of social capital. ICIF endeavors to cultivate solid expertise in all aspects of capacity development that is applied in cancer and NCDs as well as other healthcare sectors and works towards strengthening mechanisms that protect the most vulnerable by introducing proven approaches and managing collaborative studies that inform policy formulation.

ICIF goal also includes contributing towards the development of vibrant programs that support sustainable growth by combining the knowledge and understanding of social issues to support patient care, capacity building, research and advocacy towards holistic care.

Mission

ICIF’s mission is to influence the academic, health, social and economic status of individuals living in underprivileged communities across Sub-Saharan Africa through impactful activities, programs, and projects.

ICIF’s mission is in line with the global efforts to achieve the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). As a results-oriented, capacity development organization, ICIF works to assist individuals, communities and institutions, by bestowing knowledge and skills to meet the challenges of eradicating non-communicable diseases and poverty as well as building partnerships for development.
